Monday Morning Motivator – Breathe In, Breathe Out!

Garbage in, garbage out (GIGO). What you put into your brain, your body will eventually come out again in some form or another. If you eat a bunch of junk food and nothing else, your body has no choice than to draw whatever it can from that “fuel “you have put in it. If you put a bunch of crazy lyrics in your head, they have the potential to come right back out again in your actions. You see we are such predictable beings, we were made to have free will to choose whatever we want and with that free will come consequences. Some are minor consequences, some are huge and life altering.

Let’s flip this for a moment now, the lyrics of this song by Matt Redman caught my attention recently as a much better alternative to the GIGO concept. When we breathe in God’s grace, I mean totally breathe it in and let it take over who we are, what we think and how we feel, it makes us different. It causes us to exude his grace to others, it impacts our world – for eternity.  Now that’s a better way to look at what we put into ourselves – Grace In, Praise Out (GIPO). If you want to make a difference in the lives you touch each and every day, just remember to fill it with the grace of God.

We have hope, not because of us, but beccause of HIS grace!

There in the darkest night of the soul
There in the sweetest songs of victory
Your grace finds me
Yes your grace finds me

Your great grace
Oh such grace
Your great grace
Oh such grace

So I’m breathing in Your grace
And breathing out Your praise
I’m breathing in Your grace
Forever I’ll be
